June 6 may have been a wet and cool day in Newmarket but it didn’t dampen the spirits of all the golfers that were able to make it out for our Annual Charity Golf Tournament. We would like to thank all the sponsors and players for making the day another great success. We were able to donate $2000.00 to the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund to help send underprivileged children to summer camp. We were also able to replenish the benevolent fund to help towers and their families if they are hurt or killed in the line of duty. Unfortunately this fund has been rather busy the last couple of years. Without your support we would not be able to support this worthy charity or have a benevolent fund.
1st place team
this year was Co-up Towing and consisted of Gadi Cohen, Aaron Cohen, Greg Pannia and Jerry Siracusa.
2nd place team
was A Towing Services, with John MacKenzie, Adrian Sambay, Jonathon and Tony Lau.
3rd place team
went to the team from Stellar Roadside Assistance with Peter Bowman, Peter Dhillon, Kelly Mack, and Wayne Ritchie.
Again this year, the most honest team consisted of Andy Gobbo and Wayne Sawyer from Gobbo Towing in Sudbury and Art McCaffrey and Brad Vanhecke of Art McCaffrey’s Garage and Towing.
Kim Durham, DAA, got closest to the hole for the ladies.
Colin Berlett, DAA won the closest to the hole for the men.
Tony Cicirello of Mobile Business Communications won Closest to the Flamingo.
Liette Gerth, DAA won the longest drive by a female. Not hard when there was only five women on the course.
Peter Dhillon, Stellar Roadside Assistance was the winner of the straightest drive by a male.
Again thank you for making this year’s tournament a huge success and we hope to see everyone next year for another great day!!
